Chinatown-International District
Sound Transit is studying the following station alternatives in Chinatown-International District.
- Tunnel 4th Avenue Stations (Shallow and Deep)
- Tunnel station under 4th Avenue South, west of the existing International District/Chinatown Station between South Jackson Street and Seattle Blvd South (two different station depths are being studied)
- Tunnel 5th Avenue Stations (Shallow and Deep)
- Tunnel station under 5th Avenue South, west of the existing International District/Chinatown Station between South Jackson Street and South Weller Street (two different station depths are being studied). A variation of the alternative would transition towards 5th Avenue further north of Seattle Boulevard South with a similar station entrance location.

Tunnel 4th Avenue Station

The tunnel guideway for this new station runs north and south under Fourth Avenue South with a station platform located under Fourth Avenue South and South King Street. Station entry points for this station alternative include two east of Fourth Avenue South, just west of South King Street as well as three entry points on Fourth Avenue South between South King Street and South Weller Street. A pedestrian-focused realm will be implemented around the potential station. The borders of this realm include South Jackson Street to the north, Fifth Avenue South to the east, South Weller Street to the south, and Fourth Avenue South to the west. Pedestrian connection improvements will be implemented heading east across the Sounder tracks on the Weller Street Pedestrian Bridge to South Jackson Street. Another pedestrian connection from the new station to the existing Chinatown-International District station will be implemented south of South Jackson Street toward Fifth Avenue South and then veer north mid-block toward the existing Chinatown-international District Link station. Sounder Station entry points include south of Union Station on South King Street near Fourth Avenue South as well as at South Weller Street and Fourth Avenue South, adjacent with the Weller Street Pedestrian Bridge. Station entry points to the existing Chinatown-International District Link station at South Jackson Street and Fifth Avenue South are located at King Street Station at South Jackson Street and Fourth Avenue South as well as on Fourth Avenue South at South Weller Street. Two additional entry points for the existing Link station are located west of Fifth Avenue South, between South King Street and South Weller Street. Existing crosswalks to the existing station area are located throughout South Jackson Street as well as Fourth Avenue South. These crosswalks will also serve this potential station alternative. The streetcar runs east and west on South Jackson Street with a stop located east of Fifth Avenue South. Current bus routes run east and west on South Jackson Street, north and south on Fourth Avenue South, and northwest and southeast on Second Avenue Extension South. Active bus bays include two locations at Second Avenue Extension South and Fourth Avenue South and two locations on South Jackson Street between Fourth and Fifth Avenue South. A paratransit stop is located on Fifth Avenue South between South King Street and South Weller Street. Pick-up and drop off sites are located on Fifth Avenue South between South King Street and South Weller Street. Existing bicycle facilities exist north and south on Third Avenue South, Fourth Avenue South but north of South Jackson Street, Fifth Avenue South but north of South King Street, Sixth Avenue South; and east and west on South Main Street, South Jackson Street, and South King Street. Future bicycle facilities include northwest and southeast on Second Avenue Extension South; and north and south on Fourth Avenue South but south of South Jackson Street and Fifth Avenue South but south of South King Street. Existing bicycle and personal mobility storage is located at Third Avenue South and South Weller Street and west of Fifth Avenue South and South Weller Street. Parks and public space are located at Hing Hay Park at Sixth Avenue South and South King Street as well as at Union Station Square at Third Avenue South and South Jackson Street.

Station entry points for this station alternative include two east of Fifth Avenue South just north of South King Street. A pedestrian-focused realm will be implemented around the potential station. The borders of this realm include South Jackson Street to the north, Sixth Avenue South to the east, South Weller Street to the south, and Fourth Avenue South to the west. Pedestrian connection improvements will be implemented heading east across the Sounder tracks on the Weller Street Pedestrian Bridge before turning north to South Jackson Street.
